About Me

A native of Kansas City, Frank began college studying classical guitar performance (UMKC Conservatory of Music) and finished with a philosophy degree from the University of Kansas. He earned his law degree from SUNY Buffalo School of Law in 1993.

Frank was a trial lawyer for thirty years, handling cases as an Assistant District Attorney and corporate litigator before he opened his own civil rights practice in 2010. His avocation was arts writing, which he began full-time in 2022.

Frank was a founder and Managing Editor of The Buffalo Hive, a not-for-profit, online publication dedicated to arts and cultural journalism.

He is a member of the Author’s Guild and the National Book Critics Circle.

Frank covers the arts scene in Buffalo, Toronto, and the Eastern Great Lakes. He regularly reviews performances by The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and touring jazz musicians as well as recordings.
