Butter and the Genre is a dynamic jazz collective based in Oklahoma City, founded and led by
Gregory “Butter” Haubrich. The group brings together musicians from multiple generations to
craft a sound rooted in jazz tradition while embracing the energy of funk, soul, and modern
improvisation. Drawing inspiration from artists like Miles Davis, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Frank
Sinatra, the band creates music with purpose, groove, and heart. Their debut album, Music Is
Life, is set for release in 2025 via The Orchard.
