Jaye Maynard

I love jazz because it resonates with my soul. I feel connected when I listen or sing. I was first exposed to jazz via the great American songbook. I met Blossom Dearie in March of '93 at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. The best show I ever attended was a Playboy Jazz at the Hollywood Bowl with Diane Schurr. The first jazz record I bought was Brubeck's Time Out. My advice to new listeners listen to the radio. I got nearly all of my Jazz education from Steve Jazzman Williams at KUER SLC in Utah. Some one mistakenly called me Jazz recently instead of Jaye but I know why my Dad named me Bird!
