Dave Kaczorowski

Dave Kaczorowskihas performed and/or recorded with many exceptional musicians, most notably the legendary alto saxophonist Sonny Simmons; and with legendary trumpeter Herb Robertson, with whom he performed regularly for several years beginning in the late 2000's. He appears with Herb, and drummer Adrian Valosin on the 2013 critically acclaimed album, "Party Enders."

Groovosophers

The Groovosophers band was formed in Krakow in March 2023, continuing the tradition of the Goddard Quartet/Quintet band, founded in 1997 at the jazz workshops in Chodziez. Over the years, musicians have met in various lineups and musical genres, and in 2023 they decided to fulfil their dreams and combine their strengths, creating their own energetic material together.

In July 2023 and 2024, the band played at the Night of the Museum at the medieval castle Pieskowa Skała in Sułoszowa. In April 2024, Groovosophers was a part of the celebration of the opening of the Improwizacja Jazz Club in Krakow and as guest, Leszek Żądło on soprano saxophone joined the band on stage. In September 2024, the band played as a headliner on the 8th Hammond Kielce Festival. The band plays energetic concerts in jazz clubs around.

Karl Clews

Karl began his musical odyssey at the age of 8, on the classical guitar. Having achieved a distinction at grade 8 and a Performer’s Diploma by the age of 16, Karl turned his attention to the bass guitar: ‘I was heavily into soul, funk and fusion as a teenager,’ he states, ‘and I quickly realized that it was the bass guitar that really drove and directed this kind of music.’

Influenced by such virtuoso bass players as Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, Louis Johnson, Armand Sabal-Lecco and Mark King, Karl developed a distinctive percussive and rhythmic style that quickly established him as an in-demand player for jazz, blues and soul bands whilst still at university in Oxford

Noam Tanzer

Noam Tanzer is a young bassist, songwriter, and educator based in Brooklyn, New York. Playing both electric and double bass, Tanzer is part of many different musical communities and is surrounded by a diverse world of styles varying from improvised music to hardcore metal, from indie rock in Spanish to the music of Billy Strayhorn. Noam is a part of the Mike Stern band and is also actively playing with Grammy winners Miguel Zenon and Paquito D’Rivera. He additionally plays with Julieta Rada, Sean Wayland, and Mei Semones. Tanzer is an alumnus of Berklee College of Music, where he got to share the bandstand with the likes of Kurt Elling, George Garzone, Bill Frisell, Gary Burton, and Terence Blanchard. During his time there, he was selected by UNESCO artist for peace and Grammy-winning pianist Danilo Pérez to attend the highly celebrated Berklee Global Jazz Institute, where he was mentored by masters including John Patitucci, Terri Lyne Carrington, Joe Lovano, George Garzone, Dave Liebman, Ben Street, Adam Cruz, amongst others.

Roman Gastelum is an acoustic & electric bassist, vocalist, lyricist and composer based in Los Angeles, CA. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. His influences range from Jazz, Hip-Hop, Funk, Soul, Country, Classical, Electronic, Alternative, Indie, Rock and Pop music. Roman is active on the Los Angeles music scene today whether he is recording, performing live on stage, an enthusiastic private lesson instructor, a thoughtful lyricist, or composing artistically and commercially. Roman is the bassist, vocalist and lyricist of his eclectic progressive rock project - Jigsaw Falling.

José Canha was born in Setúbal, Portugal and began his musical journey as a lead vocalist for various alternative-rock bands during his late teens. He explored a range of musical instruments during this period, developing a strong affinity for those in the lowest register. Working with a diverse range of talented musicians, he gained an eclectic musical background, which ignited a growing passion for blues and jazz music.

After completing his army service, Canha abandoned his earlier academic intentions to dedicate himself to an in-depth study of his newfound passions: the bass and Black American music

Filipino-Canadian and San Francisco Bay Area-based musician, teacher, and scholar Chris Trinidad has fallen into the place where everything is music. Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, his relationship with music grew through exploring various instruments beginning with the voice, then the piano, followed by the bass guitar, and finally the drum set with little detours in the world of percussion and forays with the guitar.

Chris's formal education includes undergraduate training in Jazz Studies and Secondary Education, graduate study in the fields of Philosophy and Sociology of Music Education and Theological and Liturgical Studies, and doctoral work in Educational and Interdisciplinary Leadership. All of these seemingly disparate disciplines and interests help to inform the music that he makes.
